Luise Grube has been teaching in Portland, Oregon for over 15 years. Her students have been members of the Portland Youth Philharmonic and Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Since 1996 Luise has been on the faculty of the Community Music Center and has been teaching at Uptown Music Studio since 2001.
In 2004 Luise took the Every Child Can course, an introduction to the Suzuki Method. In 2007 she completed a two year long term Suzuki Teacher Training program at the Community Music Center with Martha Shackford and is registered as a Suzuki teacher for books 1-10 with the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA).
Luise spent over 13 years in Germany where she graduated with a degree in violin performance from the esteemed Hochschule fuer Musik (College of Music) in Cologne, Germany where she was a student of Gorjan Kosuta and had chamber music instruction with members of the Amadeus Quartet. Later she studied with Eli Goren in Utrecht, Holland. Luise performed in the Cologne area and toured Europe with various ensembles and also participated in the Cantiere, a music festival in Montepulciano, Italy.
Since returning to Oregon, Luise has been an active musician in the Portland music community. She has performed as a member of the Oregon Ballet Theatre Orchestra and has also played with Portland Opera, Sinfonia Concertante and Portland Chamber Orchestra.
